Windswept (UKR) – The
Great Cold Steppe 31.03.2017
Three Ukrainian musician
from Drudkh started a new project and written and recorded “The
Great Cold Steppe” under three days only without any rehearsals.
The names are initials on
this album, but I know that R is Roman Sayenko who is a very talented
and known musician in Ukrainian scene. Then K is Krechet who played
bass and V is Vlad who played the drums. Counter to the mother band
here is not any keyboard just the usual guitar – bass – drums and
vocals.
It was a very great idea
to create Windswept as it can summon the ancient spirit of Black
Metal. Triumphant and atmospheric guitar themes, blastbeat drums and
hateful vocals features on this nearly 34 minutes long album. Instead
of evil themes, Windswept is natural and cold just the Great Cold
Steppe. They are in harmony with the grim forces of nature, like
blizzard, storm, frozen trees, ice-cold winds.
Nature can be evil, but
evil is natural in nature as in the movie Antichrist said:”Nature
is Satan's church”. These are universal and ancient secrets.
The six songs inspired by
Eastern land during winter and I think it is so great and beautiful
as every winter. The whole album is like a marching, fast and melodic
without any resting.
Every instruments can be
heard clearly, the sound is good. There is no choice, than to buy
this album by Season Of Mist.
